There are wonderful walks direct from the property up into the hills beyond, including a superb walk to a small loch. The region is a haven for wildlife and deer are regularly seen close by. Osprey, eagles, seals and otters can all also be spotted in the immediate area. The region is renowned for its hill walking and climbing, and the dramatic peaks of Suilven, Stac Pollaidh, Canisp, Quinag and Ben More Assynt dominate the nearby skyline of this wild and unspoilt Highland region. West Horizon is a luxury well equipped escape to ensure your stay is as comfortable as can be. Your stay includes King Size Egyptian cotton bed linens, Egyptian cotton bath towels and bath robes. The kitchen is fully equipped for any would be chefs out there and has an american style fridge freezer with ice maker. The sofa and reclining chair just melts away the busy days of hiking in this wondrous land and if you still have the energy there is a Blu ray player with dvd's and PS4. The bathroom has a whirlpool bath for those who enjoy a long relaxing soak and a large double shower. Through a door and there is a cloak room with washer and dryer and second toilet, more than enough to cope with any days outdoor pursuits. Sit outside for an alfresco dining experience under the dark sky and watch the stars unfold before you. We also supply a welcome pack of food and tea/coffee for your arrival. ​This 70 sqm holiday lodge has central heating and a log effect fire for cosy nights. Use the spotting scope for marine life and the passing cruise liners heading to Norway and keep an eye out for the seals basking on the rocks. ​No stay here would be complete without a complimentary sample of Scottish whiskey. Free parking and walks everywhere. Entire cottage and garden for your own use. With a lovely quiet beach on your doorstep it provides a great start to your day. From the beach you can walk the coastal path to the Stoer lighthouse were whale and Dolphin watchers gather. Other beaches like Clachtoll are a very short drive away. Clashnessie Falls is a 6 minute drive away. Worth a visit is Choc-O-Latté for a well earned traditional Belgian hot chocolate after your day trekking. There are some wonderful walking routes in the area, many of which start on foot from West Horizon. There is a local grocery shop 20 min drive away called Drumbeg stores, and 'The Jammery' in Culkein (just 6 min drive) sells refreshments, sandwiches, chutneys & jams. Flossie's Beach Store by the road in Clachtoll is just a 6 minute drive. Lochinver, is a 8 mile drive away and provides a range of services including a Spa food shop and a butcher, doctors,post office and good quality restaurants and coffee shop. Ullapool, around 40 miles away, has a wider range of shops, a Tesco supermarket, restaurants, pubs and is also the main ferry terminus serving Stornaway on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. The area has a unique and diverse fauna and flora, with whales, dolphins, seals, otters, basking sharks, eagles, puffins, and deer taking up residence in this wild and stunning landscape.
